Christi Spangle

When describing Christi Spangle many words come to mind such as Loyal, Eclectic, Passionate, Honest

Christi has spent the last 23 years in the furniture industry and has loved every minute of it. Her career began just after graduating from Randolph Technical College in 1987 with honors. She had a great education and an open mind for what was to follow. Fortunately, she had the honor to work with an established design firm where she learned more than college could ever provide. After the birth of her first child she decided to partner with Christi Barbour to establish Barbour Spangle Design Group in 2000.

On a personal note Christi has been told by friends that her quick-witted, frank & honest personality is one of her finest qualities. She prefers outdoors over indoors, is an animal lover, was raised on a horse farm and spend her childhood as a devoted equestrian. Christi found her soul mate at age 16 and fell in love twice more with the births of their daughter and son. She has a great appreciation for the earth as God intended it to be and continues to be passionate about supporting foundations dedicated to the
fight against breast cancer.

Rebecca B. Compton

Rebecca B. Compton, ASID, CKD, received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Winthrop College (now University) in 1983. She became the first Campus Planning & Design Assistant at Winthrop upon graduation and had the distinct privilege of working on the President's Mansion remodel and update that summer, which helped shape her passions and interest in remodeling work. Since that time, she spent four years working for kitchen and bath firms, became a partner with Morehouse-Compton Interiors, passed the NCIDQ Exam, became owner of Rebecca B. Compton Interiors, then passed the Certified Kitchen Designer Exam. After twelve years as company owner, and four children during that time, Rebecca closed her business at the end of 2002 to take some much needed time off. In the fall of 2004, her husband, Mike, opened Gallery 406---a shop for art, antiquities, and collectables. Rebecca joined the store a year later and added the interior design component. The company has now morphed into Gallery 406 Interiors---the store was closed in the fall of 2009---and is now a home based office----which works well with teenaged children!

Her work includes a variety of residential design projects along with small commercial projects. Some of her specialties include kitchen and bath design, custom cabinetry, and custom window treatments.

Rebecca has been actively involved with ASID Carolinas since the fall of 1980, and has served on the Nominating Committee, the Board, and as Association Chair several times over the years. She was also the Newsletter Editor for two years (Presidential Citation), Conference Planning Co-chair for one year, and is the current Finance Director.

Wendy Haeberle, ASID

Recording Secretary

Wendy has been a professional member of ASID since 2004. She attended Appalachian State University and received a degree in Housing and Interior Design in 1999. She did her internship with an architect in Boone, NC and then began working at Platt Architecture in Brevard, NC in the spring of 2000. In 2010, Wendy started doing hourly interior design work on her own. She does primarily residential design and absolutely loves living in Asheville. She has served as an ASID Carolinas Design Community Chair and is currently starting her second year as recording secretary for the ASID Carolinas Board of Directors. She will also serve this year as recording secretary for the SCIDC (South Carolina Interior Design Coalition). Wendy recently got married in March and she and her husband Randy love to travel, ballroom dance, and spend time with friends, family, and their wonderful dog.
