What a Conference! We had 20% more Designers in attendance, and fabulous sponsors for this remarkable annual event. New products were unfolded, prizes were available, special pricing and options were available for attendees, and food!, glorious food, was both plentiful and delectable at the events and two meals per day provided during the Conference.

Some of the members of the Carolinas Chapter who represented the Chapter in Nashville were Judy Pickett, FASID; Susan Cree, ASID; Joan Gaulden, FASID; Stephanie Lazar, Leah Helton, Cassie Nichols and Sarah McGee, all Student Members attending Salem College, Winston-Salem, NC (they were accompanied by Kent R. Harris, Assistant Professor at Salem College), and Duval Acker, ASID, your President.

Good news for the Carolinas: Our donation to the ASID Foundation Auction was very well received, achieving a purchase price of $2,000 for the Foundation! Many thanks to Agnes Willcox, ASID, who procured the Greystone Inn donation, complete with cocktail party and picnic!! All told, nearly $100,000 was raised in that one evening for research programs, grants and other gifts made possible by the ASID Foundation.

Thursday, March 16th, was the Presidents Forum, and was fantastic just full of information and sharing success stories. We were given the latest and best information on Nominating Committee procedures, with additional helps for Presidents responsibilities for the balance of the year.

Interiors annual Conferences are invaluable for the professional Designer, since connecting with the people and information is fuel for bringing design to life.
